LABORATORY

Power System Lab

The power system lab is fully equipped with all types of relays like Electro-magnetic and static relays. In electromagnetic relays, Watt-hour meter induction type, Instantaneous, Bucholz relay, and differential relays setups are available in the lab which will develop the understanding of the subjects amongst the students. Apart from this Power system simulation software like ETAP, My-power and EDSA are available where students can simulate the various power system configuration and can do the load flow, harmonic, fault, and stability analysis.

Basic Electrical & Electronics Lab/ Electrical Machines Lab

This lab is fully equipped with all kinds of machines i.e. 1 phase and three-phase transformers, DC machines, single-phase induction motor, 3 phase induction motor, synchronous motors, etc are available. In addition to this, all kinds of measuring instruments, controlling equipment, drives, balance and unbalanced loads, and electrical elements are available in the lab. Opera and Auto cad simulation software is also available where students can design and simulate the machines.

Power Electronics / Electric Drives / Controls Lab

In Power Electronics Lab students can learn the operating characteristic of various semiconductor devices like silicon-controlled rectifiers, DIAC, TRIAC, and MOSFET. In order to develop the concept of the turn on and turn off process, the various firing and commutation circuits of the controlled devices are available. The power conversion concept can be very well learned by doing experiments on various converters i.e. Rectifiers, Chopper, Inverter, Cyclo-converters, which are available in the labs. Auxiliary equipment like CROs, multimeters are also available in the lab.

Network Analysis / Instrumentation Lab

This lab develops the basic concepts of network and Instrumentation of electrical engineering in the students. Hence the lab is fully equipped with all kinds of theorems like Thevnins, Nortans, Maximum power transfer, Superposition, and reciprocity are available along with conventional KVL and KCL. In order to develop the concepts of two-port networks, Impedance, admittance, hybrid, Inverse hybrid, transmission, inverse transmission parameters kits are also available. In order to simulate the network-free open-source software, OSCAD and other circuit simulation software are available.

In the instrumentation lab, students need to understand the concept of various measuring instruments and bridges All types of measuring instruments, bridges, and energy meters are available in the lab.
