Electrical & Electronics Engineering

The department has been established with a firm commitment to developing and producing skilled electrical and electronic engineers. The department is recognized for excellence in the research project. It is the first Department in NRI to be recognized with the E-yantra lab in collaboration with IIT Mumbai.
The faculty members have a strong sense of responsibility to provide an excellent education for both graduate and undergraduate students. The academic strength of the faculty is reflected by the alumni, many of whom are in the top echelons of industry and academia both in India and abroad.

Program Outcomes

  1. Fundamental Engineering Analysis Skill: Ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, Computer Science, electronics, and electrical engineering.
  2. Information Retrieval Skills: Ability to design electrical and electronics circuits and conduct experiments with electrical engineering as well as to analyze and interpret data.  
  3. Creative Skills: Ability to design digital and analog system pertaining to electrical systems

Program Specific Outcomes

  1. Able to utilize the knowledge of high voltage engineering in association with power systems in an innovative, dynamic, and challenging environment, for research-based teamwork.
  2. Can explore the scientific theories, ideas, methodologies, and the new cutting edge technologies in renewable energy engineering, and use this erudition in their professional envelopment and gain sufficient competence to solve the current and future energy problems universally.
  3. With an understanding of technologies like PLC, process controllers, and microcontrollers, one can analyze, design electrical and electronics principles to install, test, maintain power systems and applications.

Program Educational Objectives

  • To prepare students to outshine in industry /technical profession or postgraduate programs through quality education.
  • To offer students with the knowledge of Basic Sciences in general and specialization in Electrical and Electronics Engineering to impart the necessary skill for analyzing, designing, and synthesizing electrical circuits, algorithms to create novel products.
  • To prepare students to identify and select modern electrical engineering tools to enhance power generation, transmission, and distribution.
  • To prepare students to establish and manage minor and major projects in groups based on innovative ideas for sustainable development and solutions for real-life problems.
  • To pound students with professional skills, effective communication, teamwork ability, multidisciplinary approach, and an ability to relate engineering issues for a broader social context.

PLC – SCADA LAB:

  • A proactive training and placement cell arranges campus interviews for students and ensures maximum possible assistance in career counseling. The cell also assists the students to undergo mandatory training during summer and winter vacations.
  • Regular visits to the industries, lead to strong industry-academy interaction.
