NISM Workshop on Financial Literacy for Youth on 21/12/25
2-Day workshop on ‘Financial Literacy for Youth Programme. The two day workshop on “Financial Literacy for Youth Programme- organised by Vidayadayini institute of science management and technology, Bhopal, in collaboration with NISM (National institute for security markets) created by Securities and exchange board of India (SEBI) under the ministry of finance, Government of India, started on 20th December and concluded on 21st December 2025.
The objective of this programme was to inculcate the habit of saving and investment among youth and also to prepare them for career opportunities in the field of financial services.
The programme started with the welcome address by Dr. Ragini Singh, HOD, Department of Commerce where she welcomed the guest and speaker of the workshop Ms. Payal Chandra Thakur and also briefed the schedule for two days workshop. The proceedings of the programme was conducted by Dr. Rekha Sarathe Assistant professor, Department of Commerce where she explicated about the Financial Literacy for Youth (FLY) and said that Financial Literacy for Youth (FLY) is a Non-Profit organization that offers free services to teach youth about credit, budgeting, scholarships, saving money, the importance of life insurance, how to start a business and how to volunteer with their time and talent.
Speaker of the session Ms. Payal Chandra Thakur explained about financial markets, digital markets and explained the concept of investment and its importance in our day to day life. She explained how one should adopt appropriate precautions before making any investments and also explained about mutual funds. She further explained the various objectives of financial education. Speaker of the workshop also detailed about SEBI and various career opportunities in securities markets. Students of the College interacted with the speaker of the session at the end of the workshop and also took part in a question-answer session in the two days long workshop.
Director of the College, Prof. (Dr.) P.K Sharma congratulated the speaker of the workshop for such an interactive workshop for the students of VISMT and also congratulated the organizing team for their efforts in organizing the workshop on the topic that is the need of the hour.
