MINORITY CELL

As per the National Commission for Minorities, Establishment of Committee for Constitution of the National Commission for Minorities, the National Commission for Minorities ACT, 1992 ACT NO. 19 OF 1992, a Committee for Minorities has been constituted for NRI Institute of Research and Technology Bhopal MP. The objective of the welfare of the Minorities students and staffs.

The following faculty will take care of Minorities students of NRI Institute of Research & Technology during the year 2023-24.

All committee members are requested to co-operate with each other and monthly meeting may be conducted.

The aim of the Minority Cell is to strengthen the minority communities of the university and help them in their teaching, curricular and extracurricular activities. Cell is designed to help minority students from Christian, Muslim, Jain and other communities to achieve holistic development.

Objectives

We ensure equal opportunities for minorities in education Facilitates financial support for students in these communities from government agencies and other sources

To inform minority students about various scholarships of Central and State Governments. Encourage these students to enroll in courses, workshops, programs, etc. that the college offers to students to equip them with the skills they need for their careers.

Provides rapid counseling for any emotional crisis due to an event occurring on a college campus Provide these students with a grievance redress mechanism in addition to the regular redressal mechanism

Functions and Activities

  1. To collect reports and information on Higher Education, the Government of Madhya Pradesh, and UGC’s orders on various aspects of education, employment of minority students
  2. To publicize the various Central and State Government scholarship schemes and any updates in these matters.
  3. Coordinated with other College Cells and Committees such as the Mentoring Cell, Placement Cell, Students’ Council, Sports Council, Cultural Council, etc., and ensure that students from minority communities participate in those activities.

Minority Cell Composition

The Minority Cell will comprise the following members:

  1. Two faculty members, at least one of them should be from a Minority community.
  2. One of the faculty members will be the Chairperson of the Cell
  3. College Librarian
  4. Head Clerk
  5. Nodal Officer dealing with Scholarships for students from the Minority community

 The constitution of the Minority Cell for every Academic year will be shown separately on  the website

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF MINORITY CELL

  • Ensuring an environment where students from these categories feel safe and secure.
  • Making students from these communities aware of the various scholarships programmes of the Govt. of M.P., Govt. of India and AICTE.
  • Motivating and assisting students from these communities to apply for the various scholarships mentioned above
  • Collecting data about students who have received scholarships
  • Collection of reports and information of Govt. of MP, Govt. of India and AICTE’s orders on various aspects of education and employment of these categories of students.
  • Carrying out capacity-building programmes for these students, as per the need.
  • Providing a mechanism to redress the grievance of students from these communities
  • Sending reports to the respective Govt. Departments/Commissions about the number of students enrolled.
