Mr. D. Subodh Singh is one of the most qualified Chairman amongst all the Chairman of different engineering colleges of the town and also of the state. He has acquired B.E. in Electronics from Osmania University, Hyderabad and M.S. (Computer Science) and MBA (Finance) from University of Michigan, USA.
He worked in world class companies viz. Ford Motor Corporation, General Motors, etc. and won Annual Achievement Award in Ford Motors, On the Spot Achievement Award and several other awards. After that he established two software companies – enetworks corporation and netip corporation in USA.
In the year 2000, he returned back to motherland with a dream to establish “Centre of Excellence” in Technical Education. This dream emerged as NRI Group of Institutions in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. Now it has taken shape of huge group having five colleges. NRI Institute of Information Science and Technology in 2001, NRI Institute of Pharmacy in 2003, NRI Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and NRI Institute of Diploma Pharmacy in 2005, College of Management and Postgraduate courses in 2006 and NRI Institute of Research Technology in 2008. The group is growing exponentially under his able guidance. At the outset, let me thank you for the interest shown by you for our organization. NRI Institute was set up with a vision of developing creative minds who could come up with innovative ideas. My exposure to United States where I did my MS from University of Michigan exposed me to one of the shortcomings of Indian education namely ‘lack of innovation and creativity’. In US, if you look at the curriculum, right from KG onwards, more emphasis is given on the creativity and innovation at early stage and it is this creativity that has made United States a World Super Power. The same results can be achieved in the India, if we provide similar environment. With this broader idea only, NRI Institute was established in the year 2000.
I am happy to inform that in a short span of 9 years, we have embarked upon this vision by coming up with innovative ideas and practices such as Student -Tracking System, Technical Research Development Center (TRDC) and many more. On academic front, our student have come out with flying colors by producing 100% university results, a sizeable number of rank holders, e.g. 90% of the passed out student secured 65% and above.
At NIIST, many companies have found their future potential employees and that too in big number. In our first batch, more than 120 students were selected by companies such as TCS, HCL, Infosys, Satyam, Wipro, Hutch, IBM, Cisco and many others. We feel proud to announce that 100% of the past batches are placed in reputed companies. Applause to our placement cell, in this recession time too, 200 of the 2009 batch students are placed in companies of reasonable repute namely Chevron, Arvato, Tata communications, Sapienz IT solutions, Real Power, Miracle, UV soft Technologies, etc. I invite the prospective companies to tap into this huge resource of creative minds, who can contribute to the growth and innovation of the company, they work in. |
